Because this garage was a berm structure built into a hillside, there were not wood studs to nail boxes onto. We needed to install metal boxes for the receptacles and EMT conduit to run the wire. We did use fiberglass boxes and romex wire for the ceiling lights where wood was the building material, though. This image shows the transitional conduit from the wood framing to the block wall box.
